Sustainability
Corporate vision
As a leading transport company in our industry, we are committed to a sustainable future. Our vision is to make environmentally friendly mobility accessible to everyone. By using state-of-the-art technology and renewable energies, hydrogen propulsion in particular, we strive to minimise our ecological footprint. Our aim is to make transport more efficient and lower in emissions while at the same time guaranteeing the highest level of comfort and safety for our passengers. Together with our partners and the wider community, we work continuously on innovative solutions that make the sustainable transport of tomorrow possible today.
Sustainability mission
No progress without sustainability – that is the guiding principle of Prima Klima Reisen GmbH. We act sustainably out of conviction, because in the long run this increases economic performance and protects our environment.
We want to take responsibility and we keep our eyes on the future. As a service provider in almost every area of passenger transport, we take care to keep both CO2 emissions and fuel consumption per person as low as possible compared with other types of vehicle. Our journeys are therefore climate-neutral, and we additionally support regional projects in Berlin and the surrounding area.
Sustainable action, responsible staff leadership and resource-saving materials management are firmly anchored in our business strategy, which follows the four classic pillars of sustainability: environment, economy, society and GRC.

In our business premises we use LED lighting with automatic switching based on actual demand.
Working closely with waste disposal companies and using signage, we achieve better waste separation and drive forward the reduction of residual waste.
By using efficient technology in dishwashers and cisterns we save water, and we raise our employees’ awareness of the subject.
Our in-house wash bay is state of the art and recirculates the water used to wash the buses.
By 2025 we will turn our office into an almost paperless one through digitalisation measures. For the print jobs that remain, the target is a reduction of 25%. We achieve further savings through bulk orders of office supplies, while making a point of choosing ecologically minded companies and buying from local retailers wherever possible. In addition, we have been using 100% FSC-certified paper since 2022.
For our fleet of buses and minibuses we rely on new technology, which allows it to be operated with low emissions. Besides the in-house wash bay we have our own workshop at our depot, which reduces empty runs to external service providers. The filling station directly across the street keeps distances short, so that our entire bus fleet is ready for service without additional detours. The central location of the depot in Berlin Tempelhof reduces the empty runs needed to reach the customer.
Our coach drivers take part in regular driver safety training. We also offer advanced driving courses (ECO training) that practise fuel-efficient driving.
Thanks to its central location in Berlin, our site is easy to reach by public transport. In future we would like to encourage our employees to use local public transport more by offering company travel passes. Since June 2024 we have made cycling more attractive for our staff by offering tax benefits through leasing via the BusinessBike platform.
Society:
As a medium-sized, service-oriented company we are keenly aware of our social responsibility towards our employees. Our employees are essential to the social and economic success of the company. For that reason we make every effort to understand all their interests and to respond to them. To this end we hold regular employee meetings in which, alongside business and personal matters, we also address aspects of sustainability such as fuel-efficient driving, waste avoidance and water saving. Employees who identify strongly with the company and are satisfied with their working conditions fall ill less often, resign less frequently and recommend the company to others. Regular team meetings and joint events such as summer parties and Christmas celebrations strengthen the sense of togetherness. We also look for solutions that make it easier to combine working life and private life (offering part-time work and working from home).
On the ground floor, our premises are accessible without barriers for people with reduced mobility. We are also working on the feasibility of a lift. Parts of our fleet are already accessible, and it is being converted step by step.
During onboarding, new colleagues are made aware of sustainable tourism. We also offer our employees regular further training, some of which focuses on aspects of sustainability (for example the ECO driving course). At regular intervals we provide courses for our employees so that they stay informed about news and updates on specific topics (for example IT, sales, GDPR, first aid). Digital platforms (WhatsApp/MS Teams) are also used for regular communication between management and employees. This allows circulars and notices to be reduced.
As part of a comprehensive stakeholder analysis, our stakeholders were identified by topic, and we are in active dialogue with them.
Economy:
Prima Klima Reisen GmbH works with cooperation partners who are equally committed to ecological principles, so that we can offer our customers a more varied range of services. To keep our cooperation partners satisfied, open dealings and constant exchange with them matter greatly to us. We are very fortunate that most of our cooperation partners are based in the Berlin region, which saves us long journeys.
We have established structured complaint and crisis management and have trained staff for all safety and security matters, who are deployed whenever needed.
GRC:
It goes without saying for us that all obligations regarding occupational safety, health protection and social protection are met. Officers have been appointed and trained for every area. A fleet manager is responsible for compliance with the social provisions required by law for professional drivers; he discusses infringements with the drivers regularly and holds refresher training where necessary.
We have a compliance policy that all employees must adhere to. New and existing employees consent to complying with the policy by signing it. If it is disregarded, the incident is reported and possible causes and suitable solutions are sought. Employees are briefed on updates to the policy and must agree to them in writing.
Commitment to the Berlin Biodiversity Strategy
At Prima Klima Reisen GmbH we are actively committed to protecting nature and reducing our ecological footprint. We will follow national and local guidelines in order to support biodiversity and take measures that contribute to its protection.
We will review our activities regularly and look for ways to promote biodiversity both within our company and through other projects.
